The Bomb That Shook The World:

The Manhattan Project

The Manhattan Project, Atomic Heritage

Thesis

The Manhattan Project was a top secret effort to make a functional atomic weapon. The project was started due to beliefs that Germany was developing their own atomic weapons. Germany conceded from World War II, and America needed another target. The reason America dropped the bombs on Japan was because it was a way to conclude the war by destroying major military facilities and factories. Two bombs were dropped on Japan in 1945. The atomic bomb broke barriers in technology, science, and weaponry because it was the first weapon to use nuclear technology.
